This advanced Master Class is for experienced directors of photography, producers, cinematographers and video professionals who want to explore the technical and creative potential of High End HD Digital Cameras. You will test drive a variety of HD cameras used in theatrical films, television documentaries, series and commercials. The first two days provide an in-depth technical overview of each camera's operation, menu functions and tuning. (These 2-days may be taken as a stand-alone course in the High Def Technology) Under the direction of a leading DP, the next three days will provide hands-on field testing and production using the a variety of HD cameras in real situations in the studio and on location. Learn how to set-up the on-board menus to control the photographic look you desire. In addition to technical issues, the workshop will also deal with the aesthetics of widescreen composition, frame rates, shutter speed effects and the use of prime lenses. A wide range of camera accessories will be available including lenses, matte boxes, filters and diffusion screens, follow focus, zoom controls, dollies and gear heads. A lighting and grip trailer will accompany the field productions. All work will be reviewed and critiqued in class. Take home a DVD of your class projects.

Who Should Attend
This workshop is for experienced directors of photography, producers, cinematographers and video professionals who have a basic understanding of video and film cinematography and are, or are planning to be shooting HD in the near future. A resume is required with your application.

What to Bring
Bring your showreel, a notebook, small audio tape recorder, plus a DV camera or still digital SLR to record the lectures and technical set ups. Bring a small tool kit and gloves.
